Just before the completion of FLEG II, forestry experts gathered for one of the final meetings, on the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
On 9-15 October 2016, eight forestry experts from the Republic of Belarus, including the first deputy Minister of Forestry, Alexander Kulik, and chief forestry officers of the state production forestry associations of Belarus visited Germany for a study tour. The educational workshop ‘Opportunities for sustainable silvicultural practice development in intensively managed forests: experience of Germany’ was organized within the framework of ENPI FLEG II project.

Academy of Science of Moldova in partnership with EU-funded FLEG II Program organized the International Conference on “Sustainable use, protection of animal world and forest management in the context of climate change”, held on 12-13 October 2016 in Chisinau (Moldova).

FLEG II facilitates the dialogue between communal forestry enterprises and local authorities
On September 28, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine hosted a roundtable dedicated to the current situation in the forest sector of the country.
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine exchanged the latest information on the law enforcement and crime prevention in the forest sector at a sub-regional workshop, organized by FLEG II in close collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS).
FLEG II program announced three exemplary projects as winners of the media contest. Media contest was launched after the workshop for the journalists, held in Ismailly on 11-14 July 2016 with support EU funded ENPI FLEG II Program.
An online campaign was launched this year for FSC Friday - 30 September, encouraging social network users to post a photo with FSC product. The most active social media users had an opportunity to get FSC T-shirts printed within FLEG II Program and various prizes from FSC Regional Office for CIS countries.
